We design, permit, and find the right build method to get your backyard dream home built. We have designed and permitted about 200 backyard cottages and built over 60 of them since 2008, before these were called ADUs. That makes us the most experienced ADU architects in the Bay Area.

Construction cost in general is around $450 - 700+ per sq ft. The smaller the ADU, the higher the cost per sq ft as you are adding all the expensive pieces of a big house in a small footprint. Other factors that may impact the price are: steep backyards or difficult access.
From the day you ask for our remote assessment, our average project take 9-12 months. Homeowners using our pre-designed plan sets tend to fall in the shorter end of that range, while fully custom jobs tend to fall toward the higher end of that range.
