Together, we create a cohesive material palette tailored to critical spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, and built-in storage areas. Consultations generally last about two hours and can include the architect or project manager alongside the interior designer upon client request. These sessions are billed at $150 per hour.

We typically begin the interior design process just before submitting for permits, especially if decisions might impact the reflected ceiling plan (RCP), mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans, or window placements. These elements need to be finalized prior to submitting for city review. Other design aspects, such as cabinetry layouts, can be addressed after the permit submission. At this stage, we focus on material selections, including flooring, cabinets, countertops, and interior wall treatments. The entire process, from initial discussions to procurement and installation, typically spans several months.
Our interior design services are tailored to each project based on its complexity and size. We charge an hourly rate of $150 for all interior design services. For ADUs, costs typically range from $2,500 to $10,000:
- Basic Interior Design: Costing about $2,500, this includes in person meetings, material selection, documentation, procurement, and limited construction administration to ensure proper installation. - Comprehensive Interior Design: For more in-depth needs, costs can reach up to $10,000. This includes multiple meetings, extensive material selection, sourcing from new vendors and suppliers, 3D modeling and rendering, procurement, and full-service construction administration.

If you enjoy the process of mixing and matching materials, you might not need much assistance with decision-making when it comes to materials and finishes for your project. However, if you're a busy person who doesn't have the time to manage ordering and coordinating deliveries, we're here to help. Managing material orders for even a small project like an ADU can be a part-time job, requiring coordination with vendors, contractors, and designers. For those who need to see things in 3D to fully visualize the space, we can provide support with 3D modeling and rendering as well to enable you to preview your space before it’s built.
