The Arlington is a charming attached ADU designed for versatility and comfort. It features two bedrooms, a compact yet functional kitchen, and a thoughtfully designed bathroom.
The main bedroom doubles as a guest bedroom and living room, maximizing space and utility. A cozy round dining table is tucked into one corner, while a built-in Murphy bed by Resource Furniture takes center stage. This clever piece serves as a display area for books on its side shelves and transforms seamlessly into a sofa when used as a living room. When it’s time to switch to a bedroom, the unit reveals a queen-size bed, with the bookshelf doubling as a nightstand. The Arlington effortlessly balances style and practicality, making it a perfect fit for multi-functional living.
I want to make the most of every inch of the space. It’s important to me that my main living area can easily transform into a fully comfortable bedroom for my weekend guests.

Designing this adorable attached ADU was such a rewarding experience! The main living space is a fully convertible area, serving as a cozy daily living room that effortlessly transforms into a comfortable bedroom for the client’s weekend guests. One key element was investing in a high-quality Resource furniture Murphy bed. A well-made Murphy bed is a smart choice—not only does it last a lifetime, but it also helps avoid potential back strain. Opening and closing one daily isn’t always easy, so choosing a premium option ensures it operates smoothly and requires minimal effort. To keep the space feeling bright and open, we chose a white Murphy bed cabinet, a versatile grey sofa, and light French white oak flooring—perfect for a compact layout. Pops of color come through accent pieces like the vibrant Persian rug, warm wood chairs, and cheerful artwork. These thoughtful touches bring personality and warmth while maintaining the bright, airy atmosphere the client wanted.
